By managing status for a skill, you define if to show or hide that skill for definite or all areas of smartPeople or the other smartApps. By default, all skills are enabled meaning they are shown for all smartApps. You can partially disable a skill by defining applications and areas for which you do not want to show that skill. It is also possible to totally disable skills, and thus, hide them at all.
You can manage status for a single skill or multiple skills at a time.
Manage status for a single skill
To manage a status for a single skill, follow the steps listed below.
1. In a skill library, point to the skill record for which you want to manage a status, click the three dots icon within that record, and then click Manage status.
2. In the Manage status pane that opens, select what you would like to do with the selected records.

- Select or clear the Enable skill checkbox. It is selected by default meaning that the skill is enabled for all areas of all smartApps.
- Select for which application you want to enable or disable the skill.
- Select an action you want to apply (include in app or exclude from app). You can do it by clicking the three dots icon.
- Select one or multiple areas in the app for which you want to enable or disable the skill. Selecting the All checkbox allows to enable the skill for all possible areas.
3. Now that you are done with all your changes, click Save.
Manage status for multiple skills
To manage status for multiple skills at a time, follow the steps listed below.
1. In a skill library, select multiple skill records by selecting corresponding checkboxes.
2. On the command bar, click Exclude skills.
3. In the Manage status pane that opens, select what you would like to do with the selected records:

- Replace status – allows disabling all skills and enabling them for selected features.
- Add status – allows keeping the existing status of the skills and enabling them for selected features.
- Disable for all apps – allows disabling all selected records.
If you select Replace status or Add status, additional fields appear. Here you can define the following settings:

- Application for which you want to apply the skill status.
- Action you want to apply (include in app or exclude from app).
- Areas in the app for which you want to apply the skill status.
4. Now that you are done with all your changes, click Save.
