Library settings
To set up a skill library, first, select it in the Skill Library drop-down list. Once you are done, click Library settings on the command bar, and then click the command you need in the context menu that appears. You can select among the following commands:
HRForecast is a standard library. You can neither delete nor edit it, except for connecting training libraries. Once you connect one or multiple training libraries to the HRForecast library, the changes become available only in your environment.
When setting a skill library, you can define languages to which you want to translate skill metadata. It is useful to consider languages which are used in your smartPeople app, so all the necessary translations are to be provided there. For each language, you need to add a translation of such skill metadata as skill names, taxonomies, etc.
To manage languages, follow the steps listed below:
1. On the command bar, click Library settings, and then click Manage languages.
2. On the Manage languages pane, you can see a list of active languages.
3. To add a language, click the plus sign icon or + Add language.
In the Add language dialog that appears, select a single language or multiple languages to add to the library by selecting corresponding checkboxes. Once you are done, click Add.
As a result, the list of active languages is updated accordingly.
4. To delete a language, point to that language record, and then click the recycle bin icon.
5. Now that you are done with all your changes, click Save.
All the skills you delete from the library are stored under Deleted entries. To access the list of deleted skills, on the command bar of the skill library page, click Library settings, and then click Show deleted entries.
All skills deleted from the library are listed here. You can restore or completely delete them. To this end, use the corresponding buttons on the command bar: Restore or Delete in all apps. The buttons become active, once you select at least one skill record. You can apply an action to a single record or multiple records at a time.
Be aware that skills deleted from all smartApps or replaced with new ones will be permanently deleted after publishing the library. You will not be able to restore them. Whereas skills deleted from the library but kept in the other smartApps will be still listed after publishing the library so you can restore them at any time.
To edit a skill library, follow the steps listed below:
- On the Libraries page, switch to the Skills tab.
- In the Skill Library drop-down list, select the library you want to edit.
- On the command bar, click Library settings, and then click Edit library.
- On the Edit library pane, you can do the following changes:
- Edit the skill library name.
- Edit names of the existing taxonomies or add new taxonomies. Once you decide to add a new taxonomy, entries for the new taxonomy are automatically filled in with the ones of the higher taxonomy. You can move the newly added taxonomy between the first and last ones.
- Edit connected training libraries. Connect one or multiple training libraries if you did not do it while creating the library. Otherwise, you can add more libraries here to connect as well as remove the ones you have previously connected if they are not needed anymore.
- Enable custom skill IDs to use your internal IDs if you did not do it while creating the library.
- Now that you are done with all your changes, click Update library.
To delete a skill library, follow the steps listed below:
- On the command bar, click Library settings, and then click Delete library.
- In the Delete library dialog that appears, enter a name of the library you are deleting, and then click Delete library.
You can delete only libraries previously created in smartLibrary. It is not possible to delete a standard library.
